He went on to earn his medical degree from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines. He completed post-graduate training in the Philippines with a rotating internship at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Quezon City and a residency at Mary Johnston Hospital in Manila.

Dr. Antonio relocated to the United States in 1976 and pursued further post-graduate training. He completed a surgical residency at Cumberland Hospital (now NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, Cumberland) in Brooklyn, New York, and an internal medicine residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center (now BronxCare Health System).

Over the course of his career, Dr. Antonio has worked in a variety of medical settings, including private practice, hospital care, emergency rooms, and ambulatory care. He’s currently a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians.
